As the parent of a young athlete, I understand how difficult it can be for an adolescent to recover from an injury. While young bodies do have a remarkable ability to heal quickly, this can’t be taken for granted. The first hurdle caregivers face is often convincing a kid that they need to take their injury seriously. Sitting out and resting an injury and returning to activity slowly is usually not in the nature of most athletes.
Youth massage sessions usually include massage on the injured area and surrounding tissues, passive stretching, and application of oils/lotion to the affected area.
Consent from both the child and guardian is required at each service.
Please have your child wear comfortable clothing; I will work over clothing whenever practical. They may need to remove some clothing (we will discuss comfort and specifics during the consultation). A guardian must remain on the premises during this service.
Massage and physiotherapy are routine services for every type of professional sports. Maintaining supple muscles and range of motion and working out trouble spots are integral parts of the life of all professional athletes. Youth Massage Sessions usually run 45 minutes to 1 hour because they include a full consultation before any bodywork. This extra time allows your child to be fully informed and comfortable.
Massage lasts 30 minutes.
